Packing for a Tropical Weekend Getaway
A weekend getaway at a tropical location can be just what you need to help you forget about the stresses of everyday life for a couple of days and to completely relax and enjoy your vacation. Packing for this type of vacation doesn’t have to be stressful or time consuming. Books, magazines and other forms of entertainment are other items that you might consider packing for when you are on the beach.
You will also need to pack for dinners and nights on the town. Beach towns are usually not very formal but if your resort has a restaurant onsite you might want to inquire as to whether or not there is a dress code so you can be sure to bring along appropriate attire. For women, sundresses with sandals or high heels may be appropriate while men will most likely feel comfortable in khakis and a polo shirt with a pair of dress shoes. These outfits are usually appropriate for both dinner and nightclubs.
If you plan on doing some shopping during your tropical getaway, you will have to pack clothing for that excursion. It is usually not appropriate to walk in and out of shops in your bathing suit so you might want to bring along comfortable clothing that can be worn over your bathing suit for when you want to go into town to do some shopping. Short and t-shirts are usually appropriate for both men and women and women can also wear skirts, sundresses or cover ups over their bathing suits.
In addition to your clothing and beach items you should also pack a toiletry bag. Here you can include items such as a hairbrush, toothpaste, your toothbrush, cosmetics and anything else you might need. Most likely you can pick up these items in the resort gift shop but he items may be very expensive if you purchase them there so it is better to try to remember to pack these items.
