Annemasse is the second largest city in the Haute Savoie region of France and borders Geneva, Switzerland. Trade between the two cities flourishes, and many citizens even travel back and forth to work. Annemasse enjoys direct natural access to the mountain valleys in the northern part of the region, and also to the French Riviera, Italy and Lake Geneva, making this an excellent base from which visitors can take a variety of interesting day trips in a rented car. In addition to skiing, hiking and sightseeing, there are nearby villages that have been preserved in their traditional state.
The city itself also offers visitors a virtually unlimited array of beautiful places to experience. In addition to the places of natural beauty and outdoor adventure, Annemasse offers visitors a variety of fine dining options and a wealth of modern art. Due to its location as the last exit of the French motorway before the Swiss border, the city is considered to be a part of the metropolitan area of Geneva |
