Car Hire in Dieppe
As a port that is conveniently located on the English Channel, the town of Dieppe lies in the Haute Normandie region of France. Famous for its scallops, Dieppe also has a well-known pebble beach and a variety of significant and beautiful historic monuments.
The Chateau de Dieppe survived a 1694 bombardment and boasts a truly picturesque courtyard. The castle is a modern-day exhibition space and museum with an impressive maritime collection, as well as a number of 17th and 18th century ivory carvings, and the papers of Camille Saint-Saens.
Also of note, the Square du Canada is situated in a park near the castle at the western end of the Esplanade. Here, there is a monument that was erected to commemorate the strong ties between Dieppe and Canada, which were forged in the early 16th century and culminated in the liberation of Dieppe by Canadian soldiers in September of 1944. |
