Perched on a bluff overlooking the Cote d’Emeraude in the Brittany region of France, Dinard is understandably a popular holiday destination! At the end of the 19th century, its history as a mere fishing village went by the wayside as the rich and famous began to build mansions along the coastline.
Today, Dinard boasts countless gorgeous villas that are carefully preserved and protected today due to their many individual styles and remarkable craftsmanship. In addition to the lovely architecture that can be found here, the extraordinary shopping in Dinard is sure to please visitors, including the daily market, which is held each morning in the Halles de la Concorde. On Tuesdays and Thursdays there is also a market held in Place Crolard, while April through September Dinard is host to a popular antiques market on Sundays at Esplanade de la Halle.
Be sure to take your rented car for a day trip up the eastern coastline to take in the views where the headland ends, known as Moulinet Point. From this stunning vantage point, visitors will also enjoy amazing views of St Malo across the water, while the villas during the entire drive will take your breath away! |
