The stunning city of Monte Carlo is located in the city-state of Monaco in southwestern Europe on the French Riviera and is encircled on all sides by the Maritime Alps of France. Also very near Italy, the city is perhaps best known today for its casino, but it was founded in 1866 and the area actually boasts a history that actually dates back to 43 BC.
