The popular urban community of Poissy is located in the western suburbs of Paris, in the Île-de-France region of north-central France, just over 23 kilometers from the city’s centre. It is an ideal base from which to explore the many important historic and cultural attractions located throughout the entire region, so be sure to reserve a rental car for your visit.
While in Poissy, be sure to check out the notable Villa Savoye, which was designed by Swiss architect Le Corbusier in 1929 and is one of the most well known examples of the International Style of architecture in existence. In addition, remember to sample a Noyau de Poissy – the traditional local specialty drink that is made from distilled apricot pits. Also of interest, the Musée du jouet houses hundreds of old games and toys, while the town’s Musée d’art et d’histoire is also worth a look. |
