The breathtaking walled port city of St. Malo is located in the Brittany region of northwestern France and looks out across the English Channel. Its striking construction and long history make this a popular summer tourist destination, as settlement here can be traced back to the Middle Ages, helping to make this the most-visited locale in the entire region.
While here, consider reserving a rental car in order to be able to travel freely, as a variety of attractions exist nearby as well as in St. Malo itself. For example, the charming 14th century Solidor Tower is located just two miles away in Saint-Servan, while the Pointe de la Varde natural park boasts amazing views. Also of note, the Chateau of Saint-Malo is worth a visit, while the Petit Be is a significant monument historique. The picturesque tidal island lies just off the coast from St. Malo, very close to the larger island known as Grand Be. |
