The community of St. Germain En Laye is located in the western suburbs of Paris in north central France, just over 19 kilometers from the city’s center. It lies in the Ile-de-France region and boasts magnificent homes and shaded streets in the Garches-Vaucresson, which is the most affluent neighborhood in all of Paris.
While visiting St. Germain En Laye, be sure to check out the National Forest of St. Germain En Laye, which lies in a meander, or bend, in the river Seine. The area was first settled in the 11th century, while today the magnificent 13th century Chateau de Saint-Germain is home to the fascinating Musee des Antiquities Nationals, which features exhibits that date all the way back to Paleolithic times. Be sure to reserve a rental car, or take the time to learn the rail lines, in order to easily travel around the region and take in the many attractions it has to offer! |
