Easily accessible from three of the Autobahn roads, including the A5 and A7, the spa town Bad Hersfeld lies around fifty kilometres southeast of Kassel and in the heart of Hesse. The Spa Gardens, situated in the centre, are one of the most well-renowned in Germany and home to flora and fauna of all kinds. The Leonhard Muller Park was modernised in 2007 and offers an exciting link between historical and modern elements, with grass-covered earth sculptures and the festival pillar forming just some of the beautiful sights that you can see here.
Aside from these natural diversions, Bad Hersfeld is also known nationwide for the Bad Hersfelder Festival amidst the monastery ruins, is a theatre-lovers’ dream and runs for the last two weeks in June. Offering an explosive mix of contemporary and classical theatre within the stunning landscape, it invites international and local artists and audiences for a dazzling programme; don’t miss out! |
