Most famous for being the home for composer Richard Wagner, the city of Bayreuth is one of the cultural hubs of northern Bavaria and the capital of Upper Franconia. It can be easily reached along the A9 from Munich to Berlin and the A70 from Bayreuth to Schweinfurt, and also the B2, B22 and B85.
Bayreuth is also credited as a key stone in the philosopher Friedrich Nietzche’s development, with the Bayreuth festival proving to be a source of inspiration for him. Additionally, the Margravial Opera House has officially been nominated by the German Government as one of the world UNESCO Heritage Sites in Germany. The city is also home to many relaxing leisure pursuits and activities, including an acclaimed golf course and thermal spa. |
