Located in southern Warendorf, the beautiful Münsterland Beckum is a small city with a diverse range of cultural and leisure activities. Downtown, visitors can appreciate the Town Hall, which was built in 1441, as well as the Carnival Museum. Outside the city centre, you can explore the lovely views from the Soester plain up to the Beckumer mountains; on the Höxberg you can even see traditional windmills.
Cycling tours are also possible along the Hundred Castle Route, from which you can observe the scenery at its best. The Munsterland park is also another avenue for hikers and walkers.
There are many cultural and sporting activities held in Beckum throughout the year. The open-air summer festival attracts visitors from far afield and often the city shows the traditional town festival "Putt-days". Also highly recommended is the tour of the local brewery, which is the oldest in Wesphalia. Beckum is also conveniently situated close to Hamm by-road. |
