Close to the A9 and the River Elbe, Dessau is connected to the Munich-Berlin stretch of the Autobahn. The dominance of Bauhaus architecture makes it an inspiring place to visit for business and also for leisure. The natural landscape surrounding the town make it ideal for those interested in exploring on foot as well as by car. Dessau’s sporting legacy is noteworthy; there have been many successes for the town in the fields of football, handball, volleyball, gymnastics, table tennis and tennis. The Paul Dessau-Greifzu Stadium was recently renovated and expanded to be more functional; even for those who are less enthusiastic about sport, it is worth checking this out.
There are many historical monuments that are worth exploring, such as the Drehberg – now a UNESCO world heritage site. There are also many beautiful museums and parks; be sure to also check out the Bauhaus and Masters’ Houses as well as the many landscaped gardens. |
