Well located along the Bundesautobahn 661, the L 3262 from the A 5 and the Bundesstraße 486, Dreieich is a beautiful and quite secluded town that is sure to tickle the travel palette. The city castle dates from the eleventh century; another renowned tourist attraction is the Dreieich museum. Another recommendation is the Buchschlag which was established only at the beginning of the twentieth century. Originally a ‘villa colony’, the Buchschlag was a vision by social reformer Jacob Latscha who dreamed of creating a settlement for workers and officials to live together.
Aside from these cultural attractions in the centre of town, there is also the opportunity to go hiking along the Hessian cider paths and orchards which surround the town proper. From here, you can tour up to the other boroughs surrounding the town or along the old railway road. One restaurant that comes particularly recommended is the ‘Mr Bread and Ständecke’, where visitors can sample local delicacies. |
