Duisburg is very well located via the Autobahn, as well as an extensive rail network. It can be found along the motorways A57, A59 and A3 cross the city on the North-South axis and the A40 and A42 on the West-East axis.
Historically known as ‘Coalville’, it is positioned on the Rhine and is a vibrant and diverse modern city. There is a range of exciting options for visitors to Duisburg; from the Philharmonic’s regular performances at the Mercator concert hall to the new City Palais, Germany’s largest and newest casino. Aside from this, there are many options for nature lovers; the Six Lakes area and also the Landscape Park areas are well worth looking at, as well as the botanical gardens in the east and north of the town.
