A small city in Baden-Württemberg, Ettingen is home to approximately 39,000 inhabitants and more than 1250 years of history. The medieval streets offer great shopping amenities, and further outside the centre, you can get lost in the fruit orchards that are dotted around the landscape. Its position at the north of the famous Black Forest also means that visitors can enjoy scenic beauty and many outdoor pursuits including Nordic Walking, Mountain biking, horseback riding and hiking, tennis and golf, swimming in Albgaubad and the lake or the Buchtzig Waldbad are just some of the highlights. Additionally, the city is also close to one of the largest nature reserves in the whole of Germany, the Naturpark Schwarzwald Mitte.

Aside from this, there are many festivities throughout the year such as the Castle Festival, which hosts a wide range of theatrical, musical and dance performances as well as cabaret.
