Close to the A7 Autobahn as well as other major road networks, Flensburg is located in Schleswig-Holstein. It’s situation close to the Baltic Sea means that the town is peppered with a Scandinavian flavour, as well as offering some great opportunities for entertainment; the strong Danish speaking population is an additional point of cultural influence. With fields, woods and meadows nearby, there is also plenty of natural scenery to explore.

Those interested in sailing will feel right at home here, with beaches and marinas home to seventeen sailing clubs; there are also many regular regattas. Visitors can explore independently on hired boats, or even take a ferry tour between the German and Danish coasts. The recreational pursuits continue with over two hundred kilometres of cycling and hiking trails surrounding the city.
