Frankfurt is extremely easy to drive to, given its location along the Autobahn A3 and A5. As one of the most prominent cities in Germany, it is a great stopping point for a prolonged visit. The skyline is very distinctive and bears all the hallmarks of an international city, but aside from the skyscrapers you’ll find many traditional-style cosy pubs and restaurants to relax in. As a multicultural city, there is as much fare as can be expected on offer. However, be sure to try the Frankfurt speciality dish – the Handkas.
Frankfurt’s most famous son was Johann Wolfgang von Geothe; as such, there are many references to him throughout the city. Indeed, the Goethe House is one of the most explored sites of interest in the city. The Imperial Cathedral and St. Paul's Church, which was the cradle of German democracy, are well worth a visit. There are also many beautiful botanical gardens that are great for leisure and relaxation. |
