Located to the west of Munich and close to Germering, Fuerstenfeldbruck was traditionally a market town and promoted to city status in 1935. It has been increasing in size ever since. An important air base for greater Germany, it was used by the Luftwaffe during World War Two and was also unfortunately involved in the Munich Massacre.
Fuerstenfeldbruck is also home to Germany’s Coca Cola plant. Fuerstenfeldbruck is well connected to Munich via the S-Bahn network (it takes approximately twenty minutes to get there on the highway). Must sees include the city square and the market square; a highlight is The Mint Museum.
Fuerstenfeldbruck is also home to a beautiful historical city centre, from which tourists can take advantage of the two theatres, museums, restaurants and bars. Additionally, close-by cities including Ammersee, Worthsee, Pilsensee, Germering are conveniently accessed by road. The Weblinger Lake is a beautiful spot for a day out, and you can walk up the hills and enjoy the scenery below |
