Close to Stuttgart and Ulm, Goeppingen is one of the most impressive landscapes in Baden Wurttenberg and within easy driving distance of the two cities. With its position at the foot of the Mount Hohenstaufen Emperor, it is often referred to as the Goeppingen Hohenstaufen city and not without pride.
There are many sports and cultural diversions for visitors in Goeppingen and the diversity of the cultural activities on offer leaves little room for boredom! The city centre is home to ample shopping and relaxation facilities including ponds and pools. There are also lots of chances for hiking and biking to view the city from afar. For more relaxing purposes, be sure to check out the Barbarossa spa, which is home to a variety of treatments. The Goppingen Kunsthalle shows many live events and music, and other cultural highlights include the Jewish Museum Jebenhausen, the Marklin Museum, and the Municipal Natural History Museum. The Renaissance castle is a beautiful scenic spot for visitors, with vines trailing from the stairwell to the garden, as well as the Staufer fountain at the front. Goeppingen is also home to Schickhardt Heinrich, who was one of the most significant architects of the Renaissance and is often referred to as the Swabian Leonardo da Vinci. |
