Gruenberg (Grünberg) in Hesse lies close to Giessen and offers many opportunities for all interests. The Church is a fine example of the history of the town and visitors can also look at the local waterworks. The Friends of Gruenberg Museum is also another highlight and houses some fine collections from the town’s history. The house of Herman Rudgier von Hersfeld, built in the sixteenth century, is the central landmark. There are also many Renaissance buildings in the vicinity which are sure to be of interest to visitors.
The transport system to Gruenberg is well maintained and as such is it a great place to travel by car with well maintained roads coming from the Autobahn. For other leisure activities, tourists can also travel to the surrounding countryside; the backdrop of hills and mountains is sure to provide for a pleasant afternoon of hiking, or walking and the natural scenery is also a good point for bird-watching. |
