Situated close to Lake Constance, Konstanz is found in the Baden-Wurttenberg area of Germany. A pretty university town, it has a variety of leisure activities for all ages. Its location close to Switzerland, Austria and Liechtenstein also means that Konstanz is also privy to these different cultural influences, which gives rise to a vibrant cultural mix. The historical town centre has remained largely unchanged since the Middle Ages, and visitors can walk through the town towards the River Rhine for a family day out.
The Lake itself remains the most rewarding attraction close to Konstanz, and can be easily accessed by car. Regarded as one of the most outstanding natural landscapes in the whole of Europe, it offers breathtaking views of the Swiss Alps. The Konstanz Rosegartenmuseum also shows some of the most impressive Renaissance art of the period. Other recommended visits include the Wessenburg Gallery and the City Library. |
