Situated in southwestern Germany and in the North of the Westphalia region, Schwelm is a lively city which is luckily surrounded by a charming natural landscape. It is also a significant commercial hub; many international companies are located in the city which gives it a cosmopolitan feel.
There are many opportunities to enjoy artistic pursuits, with galleries and Halls dotted around the town. The Schwelm Regional Museum in the Castle Mart area is also interesting for a visit, and in this area you can also pay a visit to the famous neo-Gothic chapel which was designed and built by Vinzenz Statz. Matfield House is home to many classical and jazz concerts, and is one of the cultural highpoints of a visit to Schwelm. For ale lovers, the Schwelm Brewery is also home to many of the finest beers in the whole of Germany and, unlike many others, is still privately operated. |
