An attractive town situated between Bonn and Cologne, Seigburg is a great stopping point by car. In the centre of the city, visitors will find the town charming for exploring on foot, offering the opportunity to take in many of the local boutiques and restaurants. There are many beautiful trails close to the city, which are great for hikers and walking groups alike. The Market Square, which was traditionally home to artisans and merchants in the Middle Ages, opens up to a variety of amenities.
Some of the main attractions in Seigburg include the marketplace at the City Museum, which was also the home to Seigburg’s most famous son, the opera composer; Engelbert Humperdinck. From the Museum, a walk will take you past the impressive Bronze sculpture, which is one of the other landmarks of Seigburg, the ‘Madonna of Mercy’. For shopping and other leisure activities, the Kaiserstrasse is also well worth visiting. |
