Well renowned as one of Germany’s cultural gems, Stuttgart is home to almost as many points of interest as its bigger brother, Berlin. As such, it earns its name – historically, ‘Stuttgart’ means ‘heaven on earth’. There are many vineyards dotted around the city, as well as an array of scenic landscapes and attractions including the State Theatre, which is particularly famous in Germany, and the beautiful Botanical Garden.
Regular festivals including the Spring Festival, Summer Festival and Cannstatt Folk Festival are just some of the regular seasonal festivities that ensure that a trip to Stuttgart is guaranteed to provide for year-round fun. Also famous for its equestrian history, the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer Hall is one of the regular places for the German Masters riding competition. Stuttgart is within easy driving distance from its own airport and transport in the city, as with any major city in Germany, is well organized. |
