Wesel is a charming town full of Hanseatic culture and tradition. As such, visitors can expect some unusual diversions in this ancient city. Of the many sights and buildings that can be seen, the late Gothic and Baroque buildings are particularly interesting for on-lookers. Wesel is also home to several festivals throughout the year, including the Wesel art showcase which shows work from aspiring and professional artists. Since the nineteen seventies there have been regular festivals including ‘Carnival Sunday’ which is particularly recommended for those with families. Other particular points of interest include the stage house, the gallery and downtown churches. Some of these venues are also home to some spectacular music concerts which attracts artists from the surrounding areas.
The Christmas Market is particularly popular and shows some seventy clubs, organizations and institutions. The Hanseatic Festival is a highlight for visitors and is idyllic for strolling around and shopping. |
