It is best to start with the Acropolis and then tour to the Temple of the Olympian Zeus and the Theatre of Dionysus. There are lots of art shows held on a regular basis and some of the recommended museums include the Byzantine and Christian Museum. There are also several great church monuments to looks t such as the Agioi Apostoloi and the Sotia Likodiman (the Russian Church of Athens).
Athens is also noted for its great culinary scene – check out Archaion Gelseis on Kodraton Street for some excellent ancient Greek-style fare. |
