Arona is easily accessible from the Malpensa International Airport. It is very well connected to Milan and Genoa along the motorway. Indeed, because there is no public transport, it is highly recommended that visitors take a car to Arona and it can be reached along the A8 directly from Milan.
A quaint and charming town, Arona has proved popular for decades with Italian tourists, and is something of a lesser known gem in the Italian tourist landscape. Less populated than some of the more famous tourist retreats, it marks a nice contrast from its neighbour, Milan. From the La Rocca park to the Lake Maggiore, there are several diversions for nature lovers to visit during a stay in Arona. A highlight for those interested in history would include a visit to the Archaeological Museum, which has regularly rotating, year-round exhibitions of relics from the surrounding areas. The Mineralogical Museum is another recommended option for visitors. |
