Brescia is a well known town with great access to the Alps. It is also within easy driving distance from Milan. Brescia itself is packed with reminders of its history – it was known as one of the most notoriously ‘rebellious’ towns in the whole of Italy. The Piazza del Mercator is another highlight for those interested in architecture.
On a trip to Brescia, you can enjoy the many historical areas that saturate the town centre. These include the Old Town area, the Roman Museum and the Civic Museum of Art and History. Should you prefer to tour Brescia on foot, the Via die Musei is particularly charming and the many old squares are ‘must-sees’.
It is worth bearing in mind that many of the better quality bed and breakfasts are some distance from the centre of town, so this makes hiring a car for travel in Brescia particularly useful for day-to-day access. |
