Within easy driving distance of Florence and Livorno lies Cecina – a town which combines impressive scenic landscapes with all the traditional charm one would expect from small-town Italy. The town is most recognisable for its distinctive bridge, which crosses the river from the village. It is well worth exploring Cecina on foot to take advantage of these such things. Some other highlight attractions include the Roman villa of San Vincenzino, which can be regarded as one of the more impressive structures in the Tuscany region and certainly worth some time for exploration.
The beautiful Marina stretches alongside the waterfront area, and the landscapes to the north and the south are best experienced at one of the many bars and restaurants that also line the waters’ edge. The Marina di Bibbona is also home to some great examples of Italian hospitality. The Museum of Cinquantina is also one of the best regarded in the region. |
