Situated in Eastern Tuscany, Chiusi is well known for its variety of historical sites, including the Etrusan Museum. Amongst the many tourist attractions are the Cathedral, Span, Monte Cetona and the National Etruscan Museum. The Old Town, which is in the North of Chios, is home to the Muse d’être Sacra, as well as the Old Palazzo Dell Arciprethra; these are both among the most recommended of the museums tourists can visit.
Chiusi is particularly well known as a tourist destination for its ancient history – one of the best known areas for tourists is the Tomb of Lars Parsena. It is the hallmark of the history of the town, and certainly worth checking out on a visit there. Of the fine hotels, some particular recommendations are the Villa Marsili and the Al Poggio Dei Papi. Easily accessible by car along the A1 and the SR71, Chiusi can also be reached on route from Rome and Florence. |
