Formello is an ancient town with Etruscan heritage. Situated in Lazio, it is within reasonable driving distance of Rome. Formello is home to a wealth of tourist attractions that should prove pleasing to visitors from all over the world. Many of these are linked to its religious roots, such as the Mount of the Painted Mountain and the Church of St. Lawrence, which are particularly interesting to view on a walking trip around the town.
Additional points of interest in Formello include the Museum of Argo Veil, Sala Orsini di Palazzo Chigi and the Teatro Communale, which are particularly popular. For a day trip to the surrounding areas including the delightful Sorbo and the Valleys of Cremar, which are situated close-by, hiring a car is particularly recommended. The gorgeous wooded mountains views are breathtaking, as are the gorges and forested areas – a perfect anecdote to any city tour in Italy. |
