A home to a variety of culture and entertainment, Foggia is a popular tourist attraction for international and local visitors alike. It is easily accessible from larger cities including Naples, which is just further along the A6. To the other side of Foggia in the East, Candela can also be easily reached by car on the SS655. It is also located in the region of Apuclia in the South East of the country. Additionally worth a visit is the village of Lucera, which is located just outside of Foggia and is particularly renowned for its olive oil and sausage production.
The town is home to some great year-round festivals and attractions, including the annual literary festival. Indeed, the artistic scene here is particularly well regarded; visitors can see some of the best examples of folk art that the province has to offer. The Cattedrale della Santa Maria Icona Vetere is a 12th-century cathedral and the largest in the region. |
