The city of Mantova is the capital of the province of the same name, and is situated in Lombardy. As such, it has all the charm and infrastructure of a modern Italian city. The Temple of San Sebastian is a delightful building and provides an excellent starting point for exploring the city on foot. From there, it is easy to negotiate the rest of the city, and other points of interest include the Archaelogical Museum and the Temple Norsa Synagogue. The Teatro di Sabbioneta is a particularly good example of the fine Renaissance work that has been undertaken in Mantova over the centuries, and is well worth a visit.
Additional recommendations for a trip to Mantova include the many great restaurants and patiserries that populate it. The Palaces of Mumm (the Mantova Ufficio Musei e Monumenti) host of variety of concerts, events, shows and other musical events throughout the year. |
