Well connected to Messina and Palermo along the SS113 an A20 roads, Milazzo is a picturesque town that is steeped in character. With a heritage dating back from the eighth century, a trip to Milazzo will afford visitors with some great ways of sampling traditional Italian hospitality. The stunning buildings in the town include the Biblioteca Communal, and the many beautiful churches include the Maria della Grazie and St. Peter’s churches. The city hall is also particularly impressive.
Drives in the nearby countryside will provide for some sumptuous views of the nearby villages and it is worth taking a day-trip to some of the more interesting towns including Grace, which is home to the Villa Dova Church and steeped in Neo Classical style. The many charming traditional restaurants around the town also have some of the finest rustic Italian cuisine the region has to offer; thoroughly recommended. |
