Well known as a charming tourist destination, Parma is a charming city that is one of the better known tourist destinations in the country. With Bologna close by, Parma is a convenient starting point for a driving tour of Italy and can be reached along the A1. Some recommended areas in town include the Osteria del Gresso restaurant, which is located on the via Fedinando Maestri and is particularly recommended. Other than that, the Teatro Regio Opera house is particularly impressive.

For a tour of Parma, it is recommended that you start off in the Piazza Duomo area; from there you can travel up to the Museo Glanco Lombardi. This is home to some impressive year-round exhibitions and is certainly a highlight of any visit to Parma. The Palace in the Park is also another recommended part of the town to visit, as is the National Gallery which displays a great range of work from internationally renowned artists.
