Reggio Emilia is located in Northern Italy , and accessible from the E35 and A1 main roads from both Modena and Parma. A large city, it has a strong fashion focus and is notably Max Mara’s headquarters. With several gorgeous examples of Baroque Churches, as well as Abbeys and Monasteries, Reggio Emilia is an easy place to lose yourself for a few days. One particularly outstanding monument is the Oratory of San Genesis.
The downtown outdoor markets are some of the best in the whole country, and you can sample some of the great local dishes as well as finding curios; it is held on Tuesdays and Fridays at the Piazza San Prospero Square, all year round. Some recommended restaurants include the La Razza, Adriano and Canossa restaurants. With a car, you can easily access the surrounding lands including the gorgeous nature reserves such as the Bianello Oasis and the Roncolo Nature Parks. |
