Located along the E45 and the A3 and with great views of the Mediterranean Sea, Salerno is close to Eboli Pagani in the South West of Italy. Among the attractions of this lovely and small city are the Minerva Gardens, Pinocchio Park and the churches Arechi and Terracena. For those interested in theatre, the Teatro Munipale Giuseppe Verdi is a particular highlight. It plays host to many individual shows throughout the year, and is a great introduction to the Italian theatre scene. Similarly, there is also a nationally famous cinema festival held in Salerno annually.
Recommended eateries in Salerno include the Ristorante Sud, which is located on the via Antonio Bosio – a lovely trattoria, this is a great sample of the traditional local cuisine. This part of the world has exceptionally good pizza, so make sure not to over-indulge in other parts of Italy before you arrive here! |
