Situated close to Mediterranean Sea in the north of Italy, Savona is a well-known town to Italians but perhaps lesser known for international tourists. However, with its abundant historical sites and landmarks, there is a lot to see and do here. From the Soup Festival, to the Gothic Festival, Savona has a reputation for one of Italy’s more lively towns for its buzzing social and entertainment scene. Check out the Teatro Communale Chiabaca for some excellent examples of Italian dramatic art.
As Savona is close to Turin it is easy to access by car along the A6. Some of the routes give over to beautiful views of the sea and sandy beaches. The cuisine is typical of northern Italian fare and includes fantastic pizzas. The Bagni Mauro, a beach which is located close to the town centre, is an excellent choice for a day out and is one of the outstanding attractions in Savona. |
