Situated in the south of Spain, Calahonda is a particularly popular tourist attraction for Germans and British. Located along the coast, approximately halfway between Fuengirola and Marbella, there are some great views from a drive down to the town. With a large non-Spanish population, it is easy to visit as a foreigner and locals are very friendly. As a result, there are many pubs and cafes offering traditional Spanish food but with an international flavour.
As a lot of Calahonda was urbanized in the nineteen sixties, much of the architecture reflects this. Many of the activities on offer in the town reflect its position in Marbella as a sun-filled playground; you can while away several days relaxing by the beach and topping up your tan. Calahonda is also ideally positioned for moving on to the larger city of Marbella for some larger city vacation time. |
