Situated in the northern part of Spain, Castellon benefits from being within easy reach of Valencia, Teruel and the Mediterranean Sea. Castellon has traditionally been very influenced by Valencia’s culture. For visitors, there are a wide range of activities on offer; for history enthusiasts, there are several museums and areas of cultural interest. The Museum of Fine Arts is home to many of the most impressive works from Castellon, from the seventeenth century onwards. The Ethnological Museum is also a particularly noteworthy exhibition centre.
One of the most interesting art centres is the Museum of Valltorta which houses some impressive works from ancient times. Additionally, the Museum of Medallistica, which was opened in the mid nineteen nineties, is home to an exciting range of sculptures and other artistic works. A particular highlight on the history buffs tour should be The Municipal Museum, which has an entire room dedicated to the guitarist Francisco Tarrega. |
