Elche is a small city situated in the province of Alicante. It offers an abundance of natural pursuits, as well as artistic and cultural diversions. Located near to the sprawling Elche wetlands, visitors can enjoy the wonderful environment that surrounds this pretty town. Indeed, the garden of palms – or Palmeral De Elche – was declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 2000; with its beautiful array of trees, it is easy to see why.

There are many festivals occurring in Elche throughout the year. For walking, from the main historical centre which is sometimes referred to as the Brokerage it is possible to tour the surrounding areas, either by car or on foot. The best areas for tourists are the Pedro Juan Perpignan, the Queen Victoria, and the Avenida de Novelda. Additionally, the Aljub Mall is a great stopping point for shopping and has a 3D cinema; perfect for family days out.
