Situated approximately one hundred kilometres along the Costa Blanca, Gandia is easily accessible by car along the Autovia or National road. It is sometimes regarded as the centre of agriculture and has some great opportunities for tourists to explore. The beautiful orange trees surrounding the city lend it a particularly picturesque ambience. It is divided into two very separate areas; the beach and town area. It can easily be accessed via the N332 coastal road and also from the A-7 motorway.
One of the main tourist attractions is the Palace of Santo Duque which is at one end of the city centre. Considered a national Spanish monument, it is a must-see in Gandia. Another main attraction is the beautiful stretch of beach; additionally, tourists can also travel to the church La Colegiata. It is also recommended to take a trip to the banks of the River Serpis, which lies close by. One of the best aspects of a trip to the city is that it lacks the generic tourist charm of some of Spain’s better known tourist traps. As such, it retains a lot of individuality which can be seen in the beautiful architecture in the churches and the regional coastal towns. |
