Granada located at the foot of the famous Sierra Nevada, and is one of the most well regarded areas for travellers in the whole of Spain. The city itself is the capital of the province of the same name, and with its close proximity to the Mediterranean the temperatures and particularly good for holiday makers. Indeed, UNESCO has declared Granada a World Heritage site. With its rich history and association with Arab culture, the architecture in Granada is infused with this mood. One of the most impressive structures in world architecture, the Alhambra, is also situated here – a series of palaces and gardens which were built during the fourteenth century. Aside from this, visitors should also check out some of the lovely parks that populate the area of the Fuente Nueva and Federico Garcia Lorca. The Botanical Garden, which is also part of the university, is worth considering. The Granada Cathedral is another point of interest. |
