Javea lies close to the stunning scenery of the Montgo Mountain and as such is ideal for reaching via car so that you can appreciate the landscape. With a strong expatriate community, Javea is a popular choice for tourists and offers many of Spain’s most lovely beaches. Javea is divided into three areas; Javea Pueblo, the old town; Javea Puerto (the port area); and Playa de Arenal (the main beach area).
The Gothic architecture adds to the ambience of the city; a great day in Javea might include wandering through the streets before visiting the food markets to select some fresh food to prepare. One architectural gem is the Church of San Bartolome. The Playa de Arenal is one of the best beaches in the whole of Spain, and there are many cafes and bars which provide samples of the local fare. Overall, Javea is a delightful introduction to small town Spain. |
