Found in Cataluña, Rosas has three thousand years of history which make it a great stop on any holiday to Spain. It is also easily negotiable by car from Costa Brava – which is less than thirty miles away – as well as Gerona, which is sixty-five kilometres away and Barcelona, which is one hundred and sixty kilometres away.
Because of the Greek settlers in the eighth century BC, Rosas retains a strong link to Greek culture; from the food to leisure options on offer. There are some great seafood dishes on offer at the many restaurants dotted around the town; be sure to try the Stewed Fish, Rosas style. It is also recommended to try some of the water sports as these dominate the leisure life in Rosas; these include boating and rafting. The protected wetlands of Aiguamolls are also a great area for exploration in which you can observe many unusual species of birds and plants – a nature lovers’ dream. |
