Situated in the Costa Blanca region, Torrevieja is within driving distance of Alicante and an excellent choice for stopping on a driving tour of Spain. Some of the finest beaches in Torrevieja include the Playa los Locos, the Playa Naufragos and the Playa del Acequion which are situated close to the town. The fiestas and local holidays include the Lunes Santo, which occurs in April and the Fiesta de Musica, which happens between July and August. These are some of the best times to visit Torrevieja as the city really comes alive during these periods.

The thriving social scene offers a lot of options for diversions and some great opportunities for trying local Spanish delicacies. There are also two significant markets in the town, which are the Torrevieja Craft Market and the Torrevieja Main Market. If you enjoy nightclubbing Torrevieja is also highly recommended for this pursuit, and some of the better known bars in the town include the Alikatz Bar and the Bar Carlos.
