Located high above the Rhone Valley, the two towns of Crans and Montana enjoy great weather during the summer and are great spots for a weekend getaway or an extended break. Widely considered one of the biggest holiday destinations of the Valais region, the twin towns are located at an altitude of over fifteen hundred metres. With mountain views encompassing the Matterhorns and Mont Blanc, events and activities on offer year-round are an eclectic mix of cultural and sporting.
Crans-Montana embodies both the spirit of the Alps but also that of traditional Swiss hospitality. This, you will discover in the many shopping centres close at hand, as well as the abundance of restaurants and clubs as well as other amenities. Golf is particularly popular in the area, and the opportunities here draw visitors from the world over to try their luck on the eighteen-hole Severiano Ballesteros and nine-hole Jack Nicklaus golf courses, both of which offer panoramic views from the Matterhorn to Mont Blanc. Also easily accessible are the lake scenery, the mountain forests and the rustic inns. The huge glacier of Plaine Morte is also a major attraction in the summer. Boat trips between Sion and Sierre are also some of the highlights of any visit here |
