Martigny lies in the French-speaking region of Switzerland known as the Valais, east of Geneva, at a crossroads that links it to Italy, France and Switzerland. Inhabited for more than 2,000 years, the area is home to a variety of historical sites, including those that were left behind by the Romans and the Celts.
