The town of Tägerwilen lies in northeastern Switzerland, just to the northeast of Zurich and is home to several important heritage sites. Most notably, Castell Castle is located here and is listed as a Swiss Heritage Site of National Significance. The area is also home to many lakes, making this a beautiful region to visit during the summer months.
In fact, the entire Untersee region, which includes nearby Lake Constance bordering Germany and the town of Tägerwilen, is home to many sites that are part of this list, thanks to its strategic location near the Rhine River at the foot of the Alps. While visiting, consider reserving a rental car in order to freely explore the entire area on your own terms. For example, the nearby agricultural town of Tägermoos is a gateway to Germany and lies on the scenic south bank of the Seerhein segment of the Rhine River. |
