The picturesque town of Yverdon-les-Bains can be found in south-central Switzerland north of Lausanne and lies at the heart of the Jura Mountains near the plains of the Orbe on the shores of Lake Neuchâtel. Known for its thermal springs, Yverdon-les-Bains is a popular tourist destination and important commercial center in the region. It received the prestigious Wakker Award in 2009 for its efforts to preserve the old town and connect it to the attractions afforded by Lake Neuchâtel.
The area has been settled since the Neolithic Age and is home to a number of impressive ancient sites that are easily visited by reserving a rental car.
